What a lovely picture. It reminds me of the stone walls I saw in Kentucky. I'm going to have to get down to Turner Falls before the weather turns too cold.
Makes one wonder what came before. Such an elaborate wall constructed to go or hold out...nothing? Any history on the place or what may have been there before?
I've since found out that it used to lead to a cabin on top of the mountain and was part of an estate built in the early 1930s. The castle was built during that time also as a summer home for a wealthy doctor. I'll be posting the castle picture soon.
