June 2007 Giveaway

It's time for the June 2007 Giveaway! This month, you could win (1) a copy of my poetry chapbook 'Passion,' (2) a script for Del Shores's play 'Daddy's Dyin' Who's Got The Will,' and (3) a rehearsal script for my play 'Murder at the Witch's Cottage.'
And how do you win these goodies? Just by going to this post and voting once for your favorite cover for my forthcoming book Murder by Dewey Decimal. From the voting entries, I'll draw one winner on Monday, June 11. How simple is that! This contest is open to everyone, including previous winners.
Speaking of former posts, this one contains an informative comment by TL concerning the war in Iraq. I think you might find it interesting.
Crystal is now on Chapter 5 in her proofing of Murder by Dewey Decimal. I'm very excited about seeing it in book form. Frenzied Feline is also proofing it, but I don't know how far along she is yet. Updates when I'm updated.
And now a meme from Jean's blog. The songs don't answer the questions for the most part, but it does give you a sampling of my varied musical tastes.

SIX! I'm up to chapter six!!

Well, I started at chapter six since you left me hanging at five and I could take the suspense no longer. :)

I just finished chapter nine. I might have to slow down a bit because I've run out of errands where I can read while I sit and wait. I've got to spend all available time on the conference. Being a major theatrical director, I'm sure you understand. ;)

Cover #1. I like the starkness of it. What's the back cover going to look like?

And yeah, I want to win the giveaway! :)

I dunno, Tech, some of those titles are great for you.

You may not feel like "Dancing Shoes" today, but it fits the outlook on life you present here.

And your family? "Water into Wine"? That's a pretty good view of you, you old miracle worker, you.

As for your love life and "Can't Buy Me Love"? Well, that's sort of what you've been saying. (Bummer that it is)

And for the love life of the future, "Take Me or Leave Me" says you're not willing to twist yourself around for someone else -- they have to love you for who you are.

Soundtrack of your life? "Amazing" That's, well, amazing.

And so on. It sounds like there's some right on titles there (as with mine, the actual lyrics of the songs sometimes say something else).

Thanks for playing.

LOL--I just read your meme answers since my earlier comment was a hit-and-run.

How come you asked me who Josh Groban is when he's on your iPod??

I don't have an iPod, nor anything like unto it. Even the media players on my computer are sadly lacking. It does look like a fun meme, though. Maybe someday I'll join the modern world. :)

I'm done!

I'm done, I'm done, I'm done!

(Okay, I still have to go back and correct 1 through 5 since I started correcting in the middle.)

I loved it! It kept me in suspense until practically the last page. The ending leaves it open for a sequel, so that leaves me hankering for the next one already.

I can't wait to display it on my very own shelf!

(How's that, Tech?) ;)

I received Passion Saturday (I won the May Giveaway) and it's wonderful! The poems are clear, concise, distilled emotion. 'You As A Farmer' touched me as it reminded me of my own marriage. 'Non-Communion' was stunning in its power and pain. I've started to read the columns on the CD, and I've already laughed so hard that my sides hurt. I think your next book should be a collection of your humor columns so that everyone can enjoy them. Thank you so very much!

Thanks, Rain. Your vote has been counted and you're entered in the Giveaway!

Go, Crystal, go!

No, FF, I don't. My work comes before all! :)

Slim, the back cover will have a teaser for the book. And you are entered in the contest.

Jean, maybe I was concentrating on the words of the songs too much.

FF, I don't have an IPOD. I used the shuffle on my Windows Media Player on my computer. I didn't realize that was Josh. I've downloaded a lot of songs over the years.

I'm glad you liked MBDD, FF. MBTA (Murder by the Acre) will be formatted and submitted to Lulu this summer, too, if they do a good job in publishing MBDD.

Gloria, you'll turn my head with that kind of talk! Thank you.

I know what you mean, TECH. If I concentrated on the lyrics to my song titles, they wouldn't have fit nearly as well. I had to take them "out of context" for them to work.
