Air

Because the main air conditioning unit for my house is old and worn, it barely keeps the house cool during a regular summer. This summer with its super high temps has just about defeated it. About four years ago, I bought a window unit for my bedroom, which really made a difference in my room at night. Sadly enough, the window unit died today.

We immediately went to Wal-Mart in hopes that they weren't sold out, which they often are when temps are this high. They had one left, and fortunately it was small enough to fit my window. The new unit is busy cooling my bedroom even as I write this.

Makes you wonder about all those who went before us and were able to endure these temps without any artificial aid. Sturdy bunch of people, weren't they?
