MEMED!

Jean memed me some time back, and somehow I missed it. I wouldn't want her to think I backed down from it, although I don't know why she memed me because I had NEVER memed her before and have NEVER done anything like that to her ... yet.
Anyway, here's the meme. And remember it's JEAN'S fault.
      1. Delve into your blog archive.
      2. Find your 23rd post (or closest to).
      3. Find the fifth sentence (or closest to).
      4. Post the text of the sentence in your blog along with these instructions. Ponder it for meaning, subtext or hidden agendas.
      5. Tag five people to do the same.
      Okay, here's my entry:
"Any poet, if he is to survive as a writer beyond his twenty-fifth year, must alter; he must seek new literary influences; he will have different opinions to express."
      -T.S. Eliot

That's the entire post from back then. I was only posting quotes that I liked and recipes with the occasional poems and snippets from books in progress, not any personal stuff. Eventually that would change for good or ill.
The quote itself is still one that I like and think it holds a lot of wisdom. I know I have to prime the writing pump before the words flow. I like the best want to do that is have a new experience, be it travel, a new author, exploring a river, etc. The more in, the more out.
And now I have to choose five victims -- participants, I mean.
      1. Frenzied
      2. Jamie
      3. Joel
      4. Mark
      5. Michelle
Well, it's over. I've been memed and memed myself. I feel so cheap ...
(P.S. I'm aware some of you have already done this meme. Just remember that once is never enough.)

How come it is the 23rd post and the 5th sentence...? What is the significance?

What is wrong with the 15th post and the 3rd sentence? Or the 18th post and 7th sentence? What did they ever do to warrant such blatant discrimination and utter disregard?

:p

I'll post it shortly. And thanks for thinking of me!

I've already written most of my blog for tomorrow. It is in MS word awaiting the transfer, and it is sort of a meme itself. So this meme will have to wait at least until Sunday.

Just popped in to say hi and I've caught up on all your posts since I last had access to internet blog sites...whew, that's some feat when we are talking about someone as prolific as TECH. That park you went to looks gorgeous, especially the water falls.

Night-Rider! It's so good to see you! I hope things are going well for you.

Amber, a meme is "Richard Dawkins’s 1976 coinage, on the analogy to gene (with a little aid from mime and mimic), for a cultural copying unit, such as the word or melody that is mimicked by others" according to WilliamCalvin.com. In this instance, it's a group of questions that pass from one blogger to another. That long list of song titles a few posts back is also a meme.

Thank you for NOT picking on me, Tech. I've already been tagged twice for this meme, but I haven't been able to post, wanting to leave up my recommendation for Sheila's Private Demon for a while. It deserves as much publicity as I can give it. Good book, as hers always are. :)
