So a friend asked me why I always give my computers feminine names. (In order, Jessica, Florence, Jenny, Roberta, Gloria, Gloria Dawn, and Boudica.)
"Is it because you spend a lot of money on them and they disappoint you?" she asked. "Considering what you're attracted to, I'm not surprised."
"No, that's not it," I said.
"Is it because computers run the world and you think women run the world or should?" she asked. "It's a way to push a feminist agenda!"
"No."
"Because you want a woman to respond to your commands the way a computer does? Which means you want a slave, not a real woman!"
"No."
"Because computers fill a void in your life that you wish women would?" she leered.
"No. And that question was a little creepy."
"Then why?"
"I think it's funny."
I'm not really a very complicated person.
