I had a good Christmas. Well, it's not over yet, but it's mostly over. I still have two more Christmas get-togethers, but then it will be done. By New Year's Day, Christmas 2005 will be finished.
Most of my family came to see me after Christmas. We had a good visit. I cooked a huge meal. Everyone ate a lot, but I still have plenty of leftovers. I just don't know how to gauge the right amount of food. So I'm looking at having turkey, dressing, ham and veggies for most of my meals this week. :) Fortunately I like all those.
In health news, I've got to resume Weight Watchers. I've been sort of doing it, but it works best when you keep it religiously. I'd like to lose another 50 pounds in the coming year.
Currently I'm suffering from back problems again. But I have my cane and am getting ultraound and massage treatments. I'm hoping that it's already on the healing path, and I think it is.

I've spent my Christmas (and this week) with my in-laws and a Great Dane named Betsy. I've been to see two movies and took a trip to the aquarium. And though we've had a good time, I can't wait to go home and see my kitties and sleep in my own bed because my back is probably in about the same shape as yours!

I'm sorry to hear that you and Jaime are suffering from back pain. My late husband always had trouble with his after a car wreck when he was in his 20s. I hope both of you continue to improve.

I've only been to one in my entire life, Michelle. I even rented a tux for it. It was a good time, even if my date wasn't. She had decided that dancing and being there was beneath her. It was our last date together. After an hour of sitting there watching other people dance and having her refuse, I said, "Well, I'm going to dance with someone if you don't mind." She sniffed and said, "If you have to. I'm not going to." I smiled and said, "Okay." And then I went off and danced with at least 15 different women. It was fun. When I came back to the table, she wanted to leave. So I took her home, walked her to the doorstep, shook her hand and left gratefully. About three months later, I discovered she was angry that I didn't attempt to kiss her and even angrier that I didn't ask her out again. She left my town later that year for Dallas. I hope she's making men miserable down there. She seemed to enjoy that.
Anyway, I hope you have a great New Year's Eve with all the boogie you can enjoy! :)

I can report that there has been a thawing of relations and resumptions of diplomatic efforts between myself and Bird. Of course, all the concessions were on my side of the table.
We saw the Harry Potter movie, finally. Too much story in that book for one movie. We weren't disappointed, but it was my least favorite. Oh, and since some peopel complained about it: I thought the boy-girl stuff, tween angst and stuff, was fine. Harry, Ron and Hermione would have been shallow without demonstrating thsoe aspects of everyday humanity.
On the materialistic side, I got a cool Fossil OSU watch, five shirts, (glory!), a digital camera and lots of other stuff, and Dr. ER got all the stuff she had on her wish list! Plus some. (It helped that Dr. ER turned $100 into $1,700 at an Indian casino near Durant a few days before Christmas!!)
Truthfully, Michelle, I probably should have tried harder to understand what she was unhappy about, but she was a negative person overall and that's hard to take in large doses. She didn't living in a small town, that was for sure, but I don't think moving to a large city would have fixed her outlook on life.
I'm not sure what my plans are for the Eve yet. I know that I'm going to a get-together Friday night if my back will allow. It's just a bunch of friends gathering at a local Mexican restaurant. Doubtless we will be too loud and make everyone stare at us ... :)

Go, Dr. ER! I have lousy luck at games of chance and so don't try them. Sounds like you got some good loot.
Tech, if that had been a one time event, you might have been too harsh on your date. But I get the feeling that she was constantly that way. I dislike being around people like that. They can pull you down. I also get tired of people who believe that moving somewhere else will magically fix their problems. Most of the time, their problems pack up and move with them. That's because we cause a lot of our own problems, I think.
Exactly, Gloria, people like that pull us down. I don't know why or how they turn out that way. It's like they have decided to reject joy or happiness. They're only satisfied when things break.
My date and I had gone out several times and been around each other socially. She was very bright and attractive. A good singing voice, but something soured her on the world. Or maybe she was just like that when she was around me. Maybe I was the carrier! But I don't think so.

I was thinking about negative people and how they affect people.
One of the reasons I surf by this blog is that it's usually positive and most of the people who comment are positive, too, but not annoyingly so, if you know what I mean. I think that's rare these days.
