News Briefs

Earlier today, TECH of 51313 Harbor Street mailed his book off to an agent. "It was a great relief," Tech said. "I hadn't realized how much pressure was on me until it was gone." When asked of his plans, TECH said he was going to give the book "a rest" for a week and then pick it back up and do more polishing and editing on it then. He doesn't expect to hear from the agent until the end of November or the beginning of December. We'll keep you posted.
In other news, TECH voted today. He went to the county courthouse and was able to vote early, thus avoiding the crowds tomorrow. He said, "Go out and vote. Be heard."
And finally in a surprise move, TECH announced that he was continuing his daily word goal. "I have a couple of projects beside the book so I'm going to concentrate on them as well as the book," he said. "I plan on having the final polish rewrite done on the book by Christmas, although I'm not sure I will ever be done with it until it's finally published."
      Back to you.

Thank you, Tech.
And now, for the weather. It's a cold, rainy day in central Oklahoma today, with periods of clearing that will allow everyone to get to the polls and VOTE. Tonight's forecast is irrelevant because everyone will be inside, ordering pizza and watching the election returns into the wee hours of tomorrow morning.
Oddsmakers are split on whether there will be a clear winner for the White House tonight, with 43 percent expecting a return of the events of 2000 or some other historic twist in the decision-making process, as outlined by the Founding Fathers.
Stay tuned for updates. And when we return from this commercial message, sports.

In other, related news, joela started off the National Novel Writing Month well with 3285 words. "I was, like, so surprised," said the normally quiet aspiring writer. "Just goes to show that a little each day, every day, does go a long way."

News flash Texas... People, well OK just one, are dancing in the streets with the news of the novel mailing. They are starting to set up tents and small camps at book stores anticipating the arrival of the finished product. More news to come. Back to you Tech...
